While your child is in hospital we would like to reassure you that their educational progress can be continued with us at Nant-y-Bryniau.  We will work with their mainstream school or college to ensure that we are providing appropriate work at the right level. If they have left education we will work to support them to continue learning and to identify and prepare for appropriate next steps into training or employment.

 

In the first few days of their admission, we assign a group tutor to each student who will have overall responsibility for the young person’s educational experience at Nant-y-Bryniau. This teacher will contact you in those early days to establish a link, gather pertinent information about previous education experience from your point of view and agree on a means of ongoing communication.

 

Every 6 weeks, as part of the health review cycle, education staff will create a progress report which will be shared with you. If at any time you have questions or concerns, we welcome your contact. The more we can work as an effective team around the young person, the better the outcome.
